Data Coverage
- Fund holdings are position-level and point-in-time from SEC N-PORT, 2019→present only — pre-2019 holdings do not exist (N-PORT did not) and are never synthesized
- Insider data (SEC Forms 3/4/5) covers 2021→present; the Rule 10b5-1 plan flag is honestly NULL before 2023 (the SEC flag did not exist)
- Institutional (13F) holdings: the endpoint exists but the dataset is NOT yet populated — it returns honest empties until the 13F build ships
- Fundamentals: SEC XBRL with true first-filed vintages from ~2009-2010; earlier history (back to ~1983) is a licensed backfill — deepest for large caps, thinner for small and delisted names, with estimated filing dates flagged (filing_date_estimated)
- Intraday prices not available — this is an end-of-day platform (daily bars; no real-time or delayed feed)
- Universe is US-listed securities: foreign issuers are covered via their US listings (20-F/40-F IFRS filers, ADRs) — non-US exchange listings are not covered
- SD2000 (our own small-cap index): annual point-in-time bands are honestly thinner in early years (431 names in 2000) — published as-is, never padded
API
- Bulk (Parquet) downloads limited to the Quant tier
- All data is end-of-day — there is no streaming or real-time API
Data Quality
- Some legacy filings may have parsing errors
- Custom XBRL tags may not map to standard fields
- Corporate action history may be incomplete pre-2000
- Fields we cannot source are served as NULL (honest-null), never imputed — meta.coverage flags what is populated
Performance
- Large bulk queries may timeout on free tier
- Alerts limited to paid subscribers
Roadmap
In build
- Institutional (13F) holdings — capture pipeline exists; served once populated
- Additional fund corporate-action types (liquidations, mergers, name/fee changes) — already captured from SEC filings, served per-type as each passes its precision eval (splits are live)
